Exchange Hotel
Built by Seymore Wilcox
The Exchange Hotel, also known as the Beaumont Hotel, operated from the mid 1800's until it was converted into apartments sometime in the 1930's or '40s.

Ginger Beaumont
Born in Southern Racine County, Clarence (Ginger / Red) Beaumont was a star player on the Waupun Prison City Sluggers. He was scouted by the Pittsburg Pirates and was the first batter in the first World Series batting against Cy Young.

In 1977 a Large fire broke out in downtown Waupun.

The Walls
Built in 1848
This Maximum security prison was the first prison in Wisconsin. During the past Century and a half, many industries were housed within the walls and ranged from the ever typical manufacturing of license plates to twine, metal, bakery, and farming to name a few.
